Accessibility at Museumpark Archeon

At Museumpark Archeon, we believe it is important that everyone can enjoy the history of our country. That is why we do everything we can to make our museum and park as accessible as possible for visitors with different needs.

Read below to discover what we offer in terms of accessibility:

Wheelchair Users and Visitors with Reduced Mobility

Museumpark Archeon is fully wheelchair accessible and suitable for visitors with reduced mobility. The park offers:

  • Wheelchair-accessible routes throughout the entire park, its free and can be accessed by using a coi.
  • An elevator in the Archaeology House of South Holland
  • Accessible toilets
  • Rest areas and benches to take a break
  • The possibility to borrow a wheelchair at the entrance
  • Easily accessible exhibitions and houses

Please note that the medieval street contains some old-fashioned cobbled streets that may be more difficult to navigate.
This way, everyone can enjoy everything Archeon has to offer at their own pace.

Visitors with Babies and Young Children

Archeon is also well equipped for families with small children. Strollers are permitted throughout the park, except in the arena. Several baby changing facilities are available in the park. In addition, we offer a nursing and pumping room for parents who wish to feed or pump milk. The playgrounds and play equipment are suitable for young visitors.

Inclusive Guided Tours

Every last Saturday of the month, Robine and an archaeological interpreter provide a guided tour for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. These tours are open to everyone, including visitors who are not deaf or hard of hearing. Deaf and hard of hearing visitors may join without a reservation.

The tours start at 1:30 PM till 2:30 PM.

For Visually Impaired Visitors

Every first Saturday of the month, two Archeotolken/interpreters provide a guided tour focused on experiencing history through touch and other senses. The Archeon parc guide in Braille is available.

The tour starts at 11:00 AM and concludes at 12:30 PM.

Visitors with a Guide Dog
